Change is not the same as resilience
The UBS 2027 Video Interview for Group Risk Control asks for evidence that you can adjust when circumstances move. The interviewer needs to see what changed, what you did differently, and how the experience affected your judgment. A story about simply working harder misses the point.
The real question
Answer the whole prompt, including its final reflection:
Tell me about a time you had to adjust quickly to a new situation or new priorities. How did this change affect you?
How candidates lose points
- Choosing a change with no consequence. A minor diary update gives the interviewer little evidence.
- Describing activity instead of adjustment. Extra hours do not explain what you changed in your approach.
- Blaming other people. The answer should show ownership even when the disruption came from elsewhere.
- Skipping trade-offs. New priorities usually require a conscious decision about what to delay, simplify, or escalate.
- Ignoring the personal effect. The second sentence asks what the change taught or altered in you.
How a strong answer works
Set up the original plan in one sentence. Name the new information or priority. Explain how you reassessed the work, communicated the change, and protected the most important outcome.
A hypothetical example could involve a student project whose client moved the deadline forward after new data arrived. The candidate reduced a lower-value analysis, reassigned ownership, confirmed the revised scope, and added an early accuracy check. The team delivered the central recommendation without hiding the remaining limitation.
- State the original objective.
- Identify the precise change.
- Explain your new prioritization logic.
- Show the result and one lasting change in your working style.
The best reflection is behavioral. It explains what you now do earlier, faster, or more deliberately when priorities shift.
