The JP Morgan 2027 Video Interview for Global Private Bank is not asking for a research diary. This question tests whether you can identify an information gap, find evidence that changes a decision, and turn that evidence into a practical plan.
The real question
The assessment asks:
Provide an example of a project where you sought out relevant information and used it to develop a plan of action. Describe the situation, the actions you took, and the outcome.
How you lose points
- Listing every source. Volume does not show why the information was relevant.
- Researching without a decision. The evidence must change the plan or reduce uncertainty.
- Hiding your actions behind the team. The interviewer needs to know what you personally did.
- Jumping from data to outcome. Explain the plan that connected the evidence to execution.
- Claiming perfect results. A credible outcome includes what improved and what you learned.
How you pass
Start with the decision the project required. Name the missing information, why it mattered, and the method you used to find it. Then explain how you tested reliability, translated the evidence into priorities, and assigned next steps.
A hypothetical example might involve a team deciding which feature to build first. The candidate reviews user requests, compares support cases, speaks with two internal stakeholders, and finds that one problem drives most delays. The plan narrows the scope, sets a validation checkpoint, and assigns owners. The outcome should show whether the plan improved delivery or decision quality.
