Design the explanation around a decision
Start with what the audience needed to understand or decide. Explain why the source material was hard to use. Show how you verified it, built a hierarchy, and translated technical detail without changing the conclusion. Finish with the question, summary, or follow-up that confirmed understanding.
A hypothetical example could involve presenting a statistical project to classmates with different technical backgrounds. The candidate verified the model outputs, led with the practical finding, introduced only the assumptions that could change the conclusion, and used one comparison instead of several formulas. They asked a classmate to restate the recommendation and corrected one ambiguous term before submission.
- Define the audience and the decision they faced.

- Explain how you checked and prioritized the material.
- Show how your delivery matched the audience.
- Give direct evidence that the message was understood.
The strongest answer protects both comprehension and accuracy.
