Tell Me About Yourself: Best Structure for Lazard Summer Internship 2027 Interviews

"Tell me about yourself" opens most Lazard Summer Internship 2027 interviews, and a sharp 60-90 second answer sets the tone for everything after. The best structure is Present → Past → Future, tailored to the Summer Internship 2027 role.

The Present-Past-Future Framework

Present (20 seconds): Who you are right now — your degree, year, and one defining strength or focus relevant to Lazard.

Past (30-40 seconds): Two highlights that prove your fit: an achievement, internship, or project connected to the skills the Summer Internship 2027 needs.

Future (20 seconds): Why Lazard's Summer Internship 2027 is the logical next step, linking your past to their opportunity in UK.

Worked Example

"I'm a final-year economics student with a strong interest in markets and client work. Last summer I interned at a boutique advisory firm, where I built valuation models and presented to partners — which taught me to communicate complex analysis clearly. I'm now looking for a Summer Internship 2027 where I can develop those skills at scale, and Lazard's training structure and deal exposure in UK make it my top choice."

What to Avoid

• Reciting your CV chronologically — interviewers have already read it.
• Personal life details irrelevant to the role.
• Answers longer than 90 seconds; energy drops and interviewers tune out.

Adapting for the Lazard Video Interview

In video interviews, this question often comes first with limited prep time. Rehearse your structure (not a script) so it sounds natural on camera. End with a hook — something that invites a follow-up question you want to answer.
