Rejected at the PJT Partners Graduate Scheme 2027 Assessment Centre? How to Recover

Reaching PJT Partners's Graduate Scheme 2027 assessment centre in Hong Kong then being rejected is tough — you were close. But late-stage feedback is richer, and the fix is usually specific rather than systemic.

What Typically Decides Assessment Centres

• Group exercise: Collaboration balance — dominating or disappearing both fail.
• Case / analysis exercise: Structure under time pressure.
• Final interview: Motivation depth and cultural fit.

Identify which exercise felt weakest; that is almost certainly where marks were lost.

Requesting Feedback

Late-stage rejections are the most likely to come with feedback. If PJT Partners offers it, prepare 3 specific questions beforehand (e.g., "How did my group exercise contribution compare?"). Write down exact phrases.

Targeted Rebuild Plan

• Group exercise weakness: Join 3-4 mock group discussions; practise structuring, summarising, and including others.
• Case weakness: Do 6-8 timed practice cases focusing on the first 4 minutes.
• Interview weakness: Rebuild your motivation answers with deeper firm research.

The Comeback Application

A near-miss is a strong signal — you were competitive. For reapplication, check the firm's official careers page for PJT Partners's policy, which may vary by role and region. Return with the specific weakness demonstrably fixed, and say so in your application.
