For "tell me about a time you worked in a team" at Societe Generale's 2027 Graduate Program, choose a story with friction — differing opinions, a tight deadline, a difficult stakeholder. STAR format, focus on your contribution, and end with a measurable outcome.
What the teamwork interview question really assesses
It assesses collaboration, humility, and conflict handling. Everyone claims to be a team player; the example is what separates candidates. Formats may vary by role and region, so treat the structure below as a framework, not a script.
How to answer it for Societe Generale's 2027 Graduate Program
Situation: set the scene in one or two sentences.
Task: your specific role in the team.
Action: what you personally did — the longest part of your answer.
Result: the outcome, quantified where possible, plus what you learned.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Rambling past two minutes without a clear point.
- Using only adjectives ("I'm passionate") with no evidence.
- Reciting your CV instead of telling a directed story.
